Greetings,
We often speak of human life in terms of God’s purpose. God is the Creator of human life and is very clear about its purpose. Our Father is creating an eternal family and to this end, man is made in His image. We also understand that the physical creation is not the finished product. During a lifetime, we are to grow into the character and mind of God – to become like Him. All of this gives an incredible value to life.
What we don’t address so much is the opposite side of the coin. There is a god of this world – a being who rebelled against God and is filled with violence and hatred. This twisted being knows God’s purpose. More importantly, he knows his own future – even if he does not accept it and continues to rail against this knowledge. Man will move into a close, family relationship with God, which will last forever. Satan will be removed and banished forever. From Satan’s point of view, human life and our conduct as human beings must be separated from God and His way of life to prevent the fruition of God’s plan. To this end, Satan works to devalue human life.
Immediately following the flood, God told Noah and his sons, “Whatever sheds man’s blood, by man his blood shall be shed; for in the image of God He made man” (Genesis 9:6). It was from this family that the whole earth was to be populated and God underscored His view of man’s potential.
Satan has deceived man into using his own mind to determine what is acceptable and what is not. Satan wants man to do what is wrong, all the while having him think he is doing right. Such is the nature of deception. It is easy to devalue morality in this “present age.” Most social issues offer a spectrum of wrong – from the extreme to the benign, but most fail to meet God’s standards of what is right. We may agree that killing another person is wrong but at the same time have hatred in our heart towards someone. If we don’t love others as ourselves and treat others as we would want to be treated, we are falling short of godly morality. Sexual immorality devalues human life. How strongly do we view the sanctity of sex within marriage? Satan has deceived most into believing that sex is a pleasure to be enjoyed without any particular boundaries. This devalues God’s intended purpose for sex. We may not actually physically involve ourselves in sexual immorality but what are our views of the driving forces of society? Is adultery and fornication OK under certain circumstances? Are sexual preferences no big deal? Do we dress seductively but claim the moral high ground because we have not actually committed fornication? Satan would like for us to think these things are unimportant because immorality devalues human life.
God has warned His people not to “call evil good, and good evil” … and not to be “wise in their own eyes and prudent in their own sight” (Isaiah 5:20-21). Our valuation of human life needs to be set by the clear instructions of God’s law and not by humanly devised morality. “But this is what I commanded them, saying, ‘Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people and walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you.’ Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but followed the counsels and the dictates of their evil hearts, and went away backward and not forward” (Jeremiah 7:23-24). They walked as though turning their back on God and turning their faces toward immorality was acceptable. They devalued the purpose for which God had created them.
God’s way is a forward vision of the purpose for man. A vision framed perfectly by God’s law.
Feast of Tabernacles
The details regarding activities during the Feast at both U.S. sites are now posted on the website. Please go ahead and sign up – remember that numbers for any catered event are important as we must make a commitment to the hotels. Print a copy of what you sign up for and bring it to the Feast site for payment. Payment cannot be made online.
If you have already registered there is no need to re-register again for the Feast location when signing up for events. This only complicates matters by creating duplicates.
If you need help there are several videos on the home page covering each step of the process including the sign up for events. Homepage: https://thefatherscall.org/feast-registration/
