The will of God is an attitude; that is, love. He delights in a relationship with His creation. So comprehending His will requires that we also desire a familial relationship with the Father and His Son. We must firstly know the scripture that unambiguously states God’s will; that is, commandments, statutes, and judgements. More than merely obeyed, this law of love must be internalized. In so doing, we take on the mind of God, tighten the family bonds He is building, and express His love toward others.
Christ came to do the will of the Father, and in so doing, offered himself up as a perfect and complete sacrifice. Through that sacrifice, and our true and complete repentance, a way is made by which we can “be holy and without blame before Him in love”. Never settle for less. We, individually and collectively, are living witnesses of God’s plan of restoration; a very serious responsibility. Our first gospel-preaching responsibility is to exemplify a reconciled relationship with the Father. When we reflect His will, God can “bring forth righteousness as the sun” and use us to teach mankind His purpose.
