One of the characteristics of God that doesn’t fit very well with our modern society and cultural ways is patience. The secular understanding of patience is not far removed from the biblical perspective – “capacity of calm endurance.” As God’s people we are called upon to express patience as a fruit of God’s Holy Spirit. This quality can be seen in longsuffering, endurance, steadfastness and perseverance. For us, the pattern upon which these characteristics are built is the character of God Himself. Paul encourages God’s people to. “… walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God, strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering …” Colossians 1:10-11.
As we consider the access we have to God’s Holy Spirit through Christ’s sacrifice, let’s be sure to give these qualities their due. We are in difficult times from a number of perspectives and it is easy to become impatient and lose sight of Whose work it is that we are doing. People who are close to God and imbued with His power, are people of patience. “By your patience you will gain your lives” Luke 21:19.
This past week, work continued on the newly introduced streaming technology. Using it for the first time last week allowed us to see some areas that we needed to improve. This is certainly an area testing all our patience! This Sabbath we are really putting the technology to the test by broadcasting the one service from three different locations around the country.
Possible Feast sites were checked out in Central California and South Western Missouri. Please keep praying for God to show us where He wants to place His name for the Feast this year. No outstanding options have surfaced as yet.
