To walk in the Spirit
Do we demonstrate fruits of the Spirit when something unfortunate happens to us? Not a life threatening incident but an incident that in the past may have caused an outburst of anger. Such as seeing your cell phone destroyed. And you think to yourself I am getting better at self control. Which is a fruit of the Spirit. In Paul’s letter to the Galatians he mentions this fruit of the Spirit. In the same chapter he also admonishes us twice, to walk in the Spirit. He goes on to say “If we live in the Spirit, we should walk in the Spirit”. If is a big word. It means “on the condition of”. On the condition of living in the Spirit we should do something. We should walk in the Spirit. To walk is translated from a Greek word meaning to walk in line or rows. Such as the walking formation of a marching band in a parade. Everyone keeping in step and being together. All under the guidance of someone in charge. Who’s in charge? Jesus Christ is in charge. But how are we to walk? Paul goes on to give us three things to consider. He states “Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
