The Hope of Israel
The front cover of the current centennial edition of Foreign Affairs declares this to be an Age of Uncertainty. The Apostle Paul informs us that the just shall live by faith. Faith is built by the things that cannot be seen by the eye – the things we hope for. Hope builds faith and faith builds hope. One of God’s titles is “the Hope of Israel.” Paul says that hope is not hope if it is what we can see. We are to hope in what we don’t see and then wait for it with perseverance. Perseverance and waiting are vital elements of faith and hope. And when we express them, we can live with certainty.
