Offer Sacrifice Through Fellowship
During the fall Holy Day season, the Israelites were required to offer 280 sacrifices; it was a daily ritual. We don’t offer that type of animal sacrifice now, but we can still practice the principle. Festival observance calls for collective rejoicing and sharing of our resources. Yet it is easy to become selfish with our time, emotional energy, and physical resources. The Feast days offer us the opportunity to do better; show up to church services, be friendly and engaged, and actively consider and respond to the needs of the brethren. Because such fellowship is an act of daily sacrifice that is pleasing to God.
