Living Within God’s Plan
W inston Churchill told congress in December 1941 at the end of his address that one must have a blind soul if he couldn’t see that “some great purpose and design is being worked out here below.”
Although Churchill could not know precisely what that purpose and design was, his sense of God’s love for mankind was most certainly right. God indeed has a plan for all of mankind that is designed to develop a family of like-minded beings to dwell with Him for all of eternity. God is a relational being and He is offering mankind nothing less than a productive and eternal life. A life not constrained by this temporary physical existence.
But as fantastic and critically important as God’s Plan is, it is hard to live our life within God’s Plan every day of our lives. It’s big. It’s demanding. What is happening around us consumes our focus and we make decisions in our life, based not on the plan of God but instead on what is happening around us. It is just too easy to forget that there is indeed something being worked out here below and we are part of that story.
