Our vision is the unified spiritual Bride of Christ, living and representing the gospel of God’s plan of salvation for humanity. Our mission is to nurture the church family as a spiritual organism, feeding the flock and sharing the gospel.
During the winter months trees and shrubs will shed their leaves and become dormant. Becoming dormant is the state of having normal physical functions suspended or slowed down for a period of time. It’s the state of being temporarily inactive or inoperative. There is nothing the plant can do to prevent this from happening. It is a natural event that happens each year. The triggering mechanism for this event is less natural sunlight. In a similar manner humans, too, can be affected by less sunlight. Less sunlight occurs as fall transitions into winter. The term for this effect on humans is seasonal affective disorder. Some of its characteristics are mood swings, being anxious, bad sleep patterns, being unmotivated and depression. When these occur we can find ourselves being inactive or inoperative. Maybe even going dormant. A couple of ways we can overcome this are by exercise and light therapy. In this message we look at the physical aspects of exercise and light and the correlating spiritual aspects of exercise and light. Trees and shrubs cannot do anything to prevent their cycle of going dormant. As human beings we can.
