Don’t Take God For Granted
If we aren’t careful we can take others for granted. 9/11 was a rude awakening for many. With the death and loss of family and friends, thousands of relationships were severed. Opportunities were cut off and the casual get-togethers that were taken for granted were no longer available. This begs the question: Do we take God for granted? Scripture is instructive of individuals who took God for granted. But there are also many positive examples of individuals who were serious in their relationship with God and didn’t take God for granted. The time leading up to the Passover is an important time for personal self-introspection to insure we aren’t taking God for granted in our relationship with Him. We can look at the example of ancient Israel and learn from their mistakes and we can also examine the life of the apostle Paul as to how to maintain our focus and follow God’s instructions.
