Attitude of Thankfulness
“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” There is a lot of wisdom in this often quoted line written by George Santayana. It has been proven through time. Israel provides an invaluable example of a very blessed nation that forgot God. The blessings that God had poured out on them came to be seen as something of their own making. In that self-sufficient frame of mind, they had nothing to be thankful for and God was forgotten. Curses instead of blessings were the result. The obvious lesson for us is the antidote of setting our minds in a continual attitude of thankfulness.
