Asleep or Find Faith
So often we find ourselves living in a day to day routine. It’s not necessarily a bad thing. But it’s something we should be careful about monitoring. A routine can cause us to get lackadaisical. Meaning careless or lazy. As Christians we should not become lazy in our daily contact with God. Especially as we look to the future and the return of Jesus Christ. Jesus told a parable about 10 virgins invited to a wedding. Five were wise and five were foolish. The wise virgins had extra oil in vessels and the foolish did not. And while they waited for the wedding they all fell asleep. Both the wise and the foolish fell into a routine which caused them to be careless. In a similar manner Jesus told a parable that men ought to always pray and not lose heart. After He explains the parable to His disciples He said “Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” Our answer to the question should be yes. But what is faith? Where does it come from? If from God, when does He give it? And why should we have it anyway?
