An Additional Thought on Confession
In this message we will look at a couple words that are translated confess. First we’ll look at the typical or common word that is translated “confess” by understanding it’s meaning and application. Then we’ll review a couple scriptures and see how it was used. Next we will also look at another word that is translated “confess”. This word is translated 6 times as confess or confessed. Because a deeper knowledge can enhance our understanding of the word confession, I want to go through the definition and the usage of this word. First we will look at the use in classical Greek to understand the nuances. Then we’ll look at a few scriptures and together gain a fuller understanding of the word translated confess in the book of Hebrews and used in Paul’s first letter to Timothy.
