God’s people are to do good works, including praying for our abusers. Good works are actions taken on behalf of and for the benefit of others, motivated by the Holy Spirit, and displaying God’s law of love. The God family’s nature is that of doing good works. So they are pleased when we do likewise, according to their guidance and direction. Praying for others, especially those who curse and spitefully use us, is an important expression of their mind. It is a commandment. Develop the mind of Christ by following His example. Ask for more of God’s Holy Spirit. Pray for your enemies.
