Greetings,
We are about to begin another annual Holy Day cycle beginning with the Passover and Days of Unleavened Bread. What an honor God has granted us to be able to have a reminder of the all-important work the Father is doing on this earth. It is clear from the things Christ said about the state of the world in the context of His second coming, that man’s mind would increasingly focus inward. The general state of mind today shows a loss of purpose and direction – even at the physical level. Most people’s lives are a volatile mixture of unhappiness and emotionalism. The focus is inward and on self, combined with the inability to find true fulfillment and a mounting sense of frustration. We constantly see this in the dramas reported in the news. The world needs a Savior.
The irony is that the world has a Savior, but it doesn’t know Him. Christ died, “…for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again” 2 Corinthians 5:15. Before Christ is revealed to the world as the Savior of all mankind, a small group of called out ones are setting the scene for His return. They acknowledge what God has done for them by observing a memorial of Christ’s death and His atoning sacrifice. After putting leaven out of their homes they eat unleavened bread for seven days, indicating a new life – a new creation v17. They become ambassadors for Christ and conduct a ministry of reconciliation, demonstrating to the world what is soon coming. God’s great plan of salvation as laid out by the annual Holy Days is soon to become a reality for all mankind. What a privilege it is for us to be participating in that plan now with full knowledge of its purpose. Let us all make this a period of sincere rededication to the calling the Father has given us.
We trust you will all have a deeply meaningful Passover and Days of Unleavened Bread.
Warm Regards,
Brian Orchard
