Christian Nationalism
Christian Nationalism attempts to take the power of governance into Christian hands, and thereby restore America’s greatness and advance God’s Kingdom on earth. It is a spectrum of thinking that elevates symbols and systems of human governance to the point of worship, usurps God’s authority, and displaces Him as the focus of our faith. While proponents argue that America is a Christian nation that needs to “get back to God”, its foundations are in-fact a blend of paganized orthodoxy and Gnostic rationalism. There never was a “righteous” America to which we can return. Jesus, living in a time of political unrest, rejected political power and focused on proclaiming the Kingdom of God—a spiritual kingdom beyond earthly politics. As Christians, our allegiance is not to economic systems, political movements, or national ideologies. Our mission is to preach the Gospel, trust in God alone, and prepare for the coming Kingdom of God.
