The First of All the Commandments
The Apostle Paul used the example of ancient Israel to say to the Church – “do not become idolaters.” This directly references the first of all the commandments. The example of Israel helps us obtain a clear perspective of God’s attitude toward idolatry. It is not something to be taken lightly. What is it about idolatry that we need to be concerned about today? The syncretic mixture of today’s culture is a minefield for idolatry.
