Our vision is the unified spiritual Bride of Christ, living and representing the gospel of God’s plan of salvation for humanity. Our mission is to nurture the church family as a spiritual organism, feeding the flock and sharing the gospel.
As we move forward from the Days of Unleavened Bread we understand we have to put sin, represented by leaven, out of our lives. But if we don’t think about it by continuously reminding ourselves, we can drift. Being mindful is to be conscious and aware. Or restated, being mindful is to be consciously aware. The mental state of being consciously aware requires effort.
In this message we look at three areas in which we are to be mindful. And they are: That we should be mindful of the effect of those around us. Mindful of what we have been given. And thirdly, being mindful of our responsibility.
Overall we are social creatures. And when we interact with one another, conveying thoughts and ideas, we can influence others and we can be influenced. Being mindful of our interactions in a one-on-one conversation has a flow that we are designed to deal with. However, when we find ourselves in a group, many thoughts and ideas can flow rapidly. And in a group, general consensus will take place. This can be called group mentality. We must be mindful of the effect others may have on us. And especially aware if we find ourselves in a group.
We must also be mindful of what we have been given. As humans we have been given not only the gift of life, but conscious awareness. In addition to this, as followers of Christ we have been given a spiritual understanding. This spiritual understanding is a precious gift that must be nurtured.
Lastly, we must be mindful of our responsibility. God extends His mercy and love toward us. He is doing all He can to reach out to us. Our responsibility is to reach out to Him, to be vigilant and seek Him out.
