Why the Feast of Trumpets and Not Rosh Hashanah
We believe the first day of the seventh month of the Hebrew calendar is the Feast of Trumpets. It is one of Gods Holy Days that we are commanded to keep. It is a day of Sabbath-rest meaning we are not to work our normal jobs. The job in which we are employed and earn our money. It is also a memorial of blowing of trumpets. Not just any trumpet but the shofar. A horn made from an animal. Just as important is the mention that this is to be a memorial. A memorial is something recalled into memory. A memory can be of a past event or a remembering of something you are told about the future. The first day of the seventh month is considered by some to be the Head of the New Year, or the beginning of the New Year. What does God say the first day of the seventh month is?
