We have to understand that there is absolutely nothing that we can do, utilizing our own means, to save ourselves from the penalty of sin. t is accomplished through the death of Christ. He became sin for us.
Our dependence on Christ is very important and we must call on Him continuously to help us stay on a path of an unleavened way of life.
