Three Nights and Three Days
While my wife was reading a book she brought up a statement made by the author. It was a reference to an event in the Bible. Not remembering this event as stated by the author led me to do some research into that event. That event was after the death of Christ. To understand that event a person should understand the context and what led to that event. Since the reference is after the death of Christ it makes sense to review the first few days after His death. After all Christ had foretold details about the time period after His death. It was a response to some scribes and Pharisees who said to Christ “Teacher, we want to see a sign from You”. His response was probably not what they expected. “For the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth”. And yet it was clear enough that they took precautions after His death to try and prevent His prediction from coming true. Together let’s look at the events
