The Priestly Benediction
God instructed Aaron and the priests on what to say when blessing the people.
In 1979 in the Old City of Jerusalem, two silver amulets were found dating back to the early 6th century B.C., making them 400 years older than the Hebrew sacred writings in the Dead Sea Scrolls. On these scrolls was the Priestly Benediction found in Numbers 6.
Much can be learned from the priestly blessing, as the world has just completed its Easter holiday. The Priestly Benediction shows who has the power to bless, and who will be blessed.
