Joe Handy points to the power of choice and the tools we have to make good ones. Humankind makes choices constantly, with various motivations that are not aligned with God’s. The freedom of moral agency that God grants us is itself powerful, as is the opportunity to experience the outcome – both good and bad. Every choice has a consequence, even the unconscious ones. God provides both His law and His Holy Spirit as guides to making good choices. For this reason, we should pray for each other earnestly that each might perceive and possess God’s motivations in our choices.
