Success encompasses both physical and spiritual components. The Bible connects it to ideas of prosperity, strength, obedience, faith, and an intimate connection to the God family. Our primary focus is acquiring the spiritual tools to be successful in a future Kingdom of God, and our operations in this world are limited according to God’s law. However, neither our spiritual priority nor the law precludes physical success today. Labor was designed for mankind. Our work and what it produces matters.
Living according to God’s way should generate physical success. Godly character breeds success – in this world and the next. God’s way does not excuse lack of initiative. Our reliance on God equips us to take risk, develop skills, apply wisdom, work vigorously, and deliver the goods. We work to succeed ultimately for the benefit of all humanity.
