Be Sure To Clean The Vines
Let us get a picture of the urgency that God sees and some potential things that we should master before Christ returns. God wants us to have a sense of urgency around our spiritual lives.
This is the Feast of Trumpets and it pictures a time when Christ will return to this earth and bring into view God’s government.
Are we ready to go to our Father’s house? Have we actually met expectations and “cleaned our vines” spiritually? Or are we merely doing the bare minimum…getting those things which are indeed essential, but leaving the others undone? Do we have a sense of urgency around our spiritual development… or do we believe that striving toward the crown that God has for us is something that we can leave for tomorrow?
He does not want us to merely do the fundamental things toward spiritual growth. Using the bean vine as an analogy, we can see that it takes us to a level where we must strive to look under the leaves and work on the more difficult things toward spiritual growth to fulfill the commitment that God is looking for.
