Satan is the adversary of all mankind, with the power to influence our thoughts. We must be vigilant toidentify and resist him, and instead to submit our minds to Jesus Christ. God provides the perception and strength by which we win this war.
The knowledge of which we are convicted critical direction and purpose to our lives. Simple truths like the holiness of the Sabbath, the distinction between sin and righteousness, and Satan’s evil rule of man’s realm provide a formative paradigm in which we live.
However, the world is largely blinded to the truth by Satan. He has the power to influence world events, the circumstances of our lives, and human thought. Even God’s faithful experience ideas inspired by Satan. Thus, he preys upon our weaknesses. To one degree or another, many are ensnared by demonic influence. It extends even to complete demonic possession of a human being. Such power and influence explains the condition of this present world. The enemy of mankind is not physical.
We are engaged in spiritual warfare. There is nothing in us physically that can engage this battle. Our only weapons are spiritual. God does not fear these fallen spirits, and neither should we. Indeed, they recognize God’s power over them, and they fear Him! God hates and opposes every expression of Satan’s influence. It is by God’s power and His will that we can tear down Satan’s strongholds in our minds.
Which spirit are you connected to; God’s Holy Spirit and the Tree of Life, or Satan’s Power of the Air and the Tree of Good and Evil? Actively distinguish the traits and tactics of these two distinct sources. For example: Satan is the Accuser, while Christ is the Advocate. By such attentiveness we accurately identify where our thoughts come from, and choose to which power we submit. We have to work hard at tearing down Satan’s strongholds, and resisting His attacks.
The power of the unseen spirit world is reality. Yet there is no need for discouragement. The battle we are fighting has a great purpose. We have a powerful defender and advocate. The war is already won. We are blessed to comprehend God’s purpose.
