Simple Obedience and Hope
Why do we keep the Feast of Pentecost and what is its significance? We keep it to simply be obedient – certainly. That is a part of it, but that simple obedience also enables us to make use of the gift – the Holy Spirit – that Christ told His disciples would come on Pentecost. Receiving the Holy Spirit is very much like a spiritual Jubilee to each of us, providing great hope for us to grow in as potential firstfruits with Christ. That, in turn, points to a huge spiritual Jubilee to come upon all mankind in the Millennium and into the Great White Throne Judgment. Simple obedience is inseparably woven throughout the entire process.
