Remembrance
We as humans like to think that we are continually making progress by coming up with new ideas, when what we really need is to study the past and learn from it. We are weak and forgetful creatures who are easily lead away from God’s law and its intent. God’s word, therefore, emphasizes the need for remembrance as being a key element toward being an actual doer of God’s word, which is what brings lasting progress and success. Seeing and considering all the marvelous things God has done will remind us that God will accomplish all that He says He will do, building our confidence to move forward in faith.
