Rebellion Against God
Since the first sin in the garden, mankind had been in a state of rebellion against God. Only through the indwelling of the Holy spirit are we able to put aside the carnal tendencies and live in obedience to God. But we still must fight our urges to be independent of Godly rule. Dependence on God and a surrendering of self-will is the only way to escape the deception plaguing the world.
