Mercy and Truth Have Met Together
No one had to teach us how to lie; we were all skilled at a very early age. Unlike us, God cannot lie, describing Himself as merciful, gracious, long-suffering and abounding in goodness and truth. This truth of God must be learned and we are to ask God to lead us and teach us in His truth. People who have the truth–and we have God’s truth–should be some of the most merciful people on the face of the earth, and we need to forgive. Christ tells us that in order to be forgiven, we need to forgive others and not hold grudges.
