He Has Chosen The Foolish Things
Going against the popular way of doing things can often be seen as foolish. In Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians he addresses this by stating that when a person follows Christ what they do is considered foolish to those who don’t. He tells them as you look around you’ll realize that not many people who are considered wise such as the top scientists, physicists, doctors, lawyers, or others according to worldly standards, are part of the church. The same holds true for the mighty, the captains of industry. Also those of nobility. No God has chosen the foolish things of the world. Not that they are foolish, meaning unwise or even stupid. But by obeying God and living life according to His standards, these individuals are considered foolish. If this was a team activity and being on the team meant I was foolish, well I wouldn’t mind at all. Would you?
