Coming Out Of Babylon
Certainly, we all are very grateful to the Eternal for calling us out of this world.
He has given us His Holy Spirit and this has allowed us to know the intent of God and His Son, Jesus Christ. Because of this knowledge, we understand what the world cannot at this time, but one day will understand. And although we have done nothing to deserve this gift, God has called us to this understanding. Part of the gift is an understanding of His Law and, of course, His Holy Days. During these special days, we are able to come out of the world… to come out of the environment ruled by Satan ─ to come out of Babylon, as it were.
But God has allowed His people to be placed within an environment, apart from the Holy Days, that is sinful. Is it by accident? Is it by design? Satan has, for thousands of years, created an environment of “get”. God wants His people to come out of Babylon and not partake of her sins. We are not to be a part of Babylon. Christ, in His dialogue with God, the Father, in John 17:14~19, did not ask that those chosen at this time be removed from this environment, but protected from Satan. We aren’t of this world! We may be in Babylon, but Babylon should not be in us. So as we rejoice during this time, what lessons should we take back with us so that we stay separate…that we continue to focus on a future environment that will be far different from the world as it is today? Let us look at three traits that we need to possess such that we are distinct in our thinking and the way we live our lives.
