Services ahead of the Feast
Services on the Sabbath of September 26 will originate from Oxnard at 11am West Coast time. There will be no local services in other areas apart from Tulsa and Boise. Tulsa services will be at the Marriott hotel in our meeting room for the duration of the Feast, Silver Oaks B.
So many people have indicated they will be in Oxnard by that Sabbath that we are concerned about space. At this stage we only have access to the overflow room for that day. That area only holds around 80 max. The Residence Inn is working on trying to find a way to accommodate us in another area but we have to be prepared that they may not be able to do that. A possibility may be to overflow into the dining room area. But just a heads up that we may need to ask some to return to their rooms for the service to watch online. Those staying in rented homes may want to plan to invite other families to view services together in-home. I will send out an email when we finally know what the hotel can do for us. Whatever happens it will be an enthusiastic start to a wonderful Feast!
Song Books
Hymn Books are often in short supply at the Feast so this is a reminder to bring your own if you have one and any extras from local congregations.
Formal Dinner Dance
Some questions have come in about dress code for the Dinner Dance in Oxnard. This year will be a more formal evening just for a change of pace and contrast to last year’s beach themed dance. We wanted to provide the ladies an opportunity to dress up but full evening wear is not required for the men. A jacket and tie will suffice. But if you have a tux you want to provide an outing for feel free to go ahead. This is a family evening and we want everyone to be able to attend. Please plan to do so even if you are unable to pay the full price listed on the website. People from other organizations are also welcome but we do need numbers and commitment to meal choices ahead of the Feast.
Golf
A reminder too that if you are interested in playing golf at the Feast we need you to sign up. If you can bring your own clubs be sure to put that on the list of items to pack.
Other Feast Activities
Both Feast locations have additional planned activities that people are working hard behind the scenes to provide for your enjoyment. If you have not signed up on line and would like to attend the other events at the site you are attending please indicate your intentions right away. We want everyone to enjoy as many activities as they can so don’t let finances be an issue – come anyway. Many members donate generously to help others share in the fellowship and fun.
Offerings
A few have questioned how checks should be written. “Church of God” is adequate but if you want to use the whole registered name of the organization “The Church of God – The Father’s Call” is accurate. Offerings will be taken up on the first Holy Day and Last Great Day as is traditional.
Services
All of the activity and service information is posted on the website. The service schedules for both Oxnard and Tulsa are posted. The information is under “Feast Plans 2015”. Services will be streamed live from Oxnard via the website and then immediately posted under “Messages” and “Feast of Tabernacles”.
Atonement
The service for Atonement (Wednesday 23rd) will be held at the regular time of 11:00 am Pacific and will originate from Concord CA.
