Deutsche Welle’s January 3, 2015 headline read,
“Boko Haram kidnaps 40 boys and young men in northeastern Nigeria”
It added,
“In 2014, the militants abducted about 200 girls from a boarding school in the same state.”
According to DW, the male captives will be expected to fight as soldiers for their goal, an Islamic state under their control, much like the ISIS objective in the Middle East. Presumably, if they don’t they will be killed.
A later report indicated Boko Haram had also captured the Nigerian town of Baga and its military base.
