Faith and Doubt
The pages of the Bible are full of men and women who have faced ambushes in life, just as we do. Their examples are instructive. They walked through these same valleys filled with death, inexplicable suffering, and unanswered prayer, and yet somehow, they managed to persevere with their faith intact to the very end. Sometimes when things are taken away from us, our faith in God goes away too.
The very people that were closest to Jesus that walked with Him, were taught by Him, were not immune to the violence, the uncertainty, the random nonsense of the world around them. God could have protected them from the world around them, but He didn’t. But these men and women turned to God in spite of that—for comfort and help—even when it made no sense. Even when there was no logical explanation for what was happening.
