The Seed and the Soil
By some counts, twenty-three parables of Jesus are found in the Book of Matthew. One of the best-known of the parables is the Sower. Depending on the soil, the same seed produces no crop, some crop, or much crop according to the character of the earth. The differences lie in the grounds, so the question becomes, what kind of soil are we? If people can grow because of the soil, do they grow spiritually around us? Are we good soil to grow in? And what does good spiritual dirt look like anyway? God’s Word has all the answers for us regarding spiritually increasing land.
