The Power Of Hope

There are two important aspects of Hope. My earlier message on The Hope That Lies Within covered the aspect of Hope as a shield to defend us from the challenges and hardships in life that could overwhelm us. Today’s message is about the other aspect of Hope. Hope also has an offensive side that we are to use to propel us forward in our spiritual endeavor to enter God’s Kingdom. Hope is one of the most important factors in promoting well-being in individuals and families. One of the critical components of Hope is faith. In Hebrews 11, we are told of many individuals who used this component of faith to propel them forward in living according to Godly standards. Our hope is grounded in two important aspects, one of which is Goal-setting. The other aspect is developing Action Plans to attain our Goals. We must love God’s ways and have a deep love and passion for them. This passion will motivate the actions we need to take to make God our priority. Part of Goal-Setting is knowing that the goal is attainable. God in His word assures us that Salvation is possible if we endure and overcome to the end of our physical lives. Regarding actions we can take; beyond prayer, bible-study, meditation and fasting repentance is an essential tool we are to employ to remain close to God and not allow Satan to unhinge us from our personal relationship with God our Father.
