Our Future Rest Depends on Today
As we enter into to the fall Holy Day season we observe special Holy Days that represent Gods plan for mankind. Each day is part of the outline of that plan. All of which point to the final part of God’s plan, which is a time of rest for all mankind. This future time was proclaimed by Jesus Christ. It is the kingdom of God. We may not think about it but this same gospel message was proclaimed to Israel too. As a physical type Israel was taken to the Promised Land, a land of rest, but was not able to enter. They had hardened their hearts and as a result were faithless. They rebelled against God. And thus that generation did not get to enter. Today we have a similar opportunity. The opportunity to be faithful. To trust God. And this faithfulness and trust requires action each and every day. So we must hear His voice and not harden our hearts. We must keep our eyes on Him and not focus on the trials that come our way. In doing so we will be able to enter into the future rest promised to God’s people.
