Is It Something I Said?
One could say that one of our greatest spiritual challenges is to control how and what we say. This is very impactful as we are to lead in the World Tomorrow. How should we act; how should we behave? Today, let us explore several things to think through when we engage with others. We all understand that the tongue in our mouths is capable of making a lot of things very difficult for us. Let’s be candid. We know that there are conversations or thoughts that we wish had never exited our lips… but the tongue keeps pumping stuff out. It can cause a lot of trouble, at times taking on a life of its own… or so it seems.
The tongue is translating what the mind is really thinking. Couple this with some poor character traits and it is easy to see that the tongue can have a detrimental impact or effect on others. When we use our tongues in the wrong way, life around us and even extended beyond can have a detrimental effect. But brethren, are we not members of God’s community? Should we not be held, certainly in the eyes of God and His Son, Jesus Christ, to a different and higher standard in how we communicate and engage with others? Let us examine ways that can help us as we continue to prepare for the coming Kingdom of God.
