So far, February’s weather has not brought relief to Americans.
On her west coast, it has been unseasonably warm. While much needed precipitation fell earlier in the month, it was not enough to break the drought.
Meanwhile, record shattering winter storms keep pounding the eastern half of the country.
According to ABC’s Good Morning America TV show, the current storm has “more than 90 million Americans in the crosshairs”.
CBS’s This Morning said that in Washington DC federal government workers were sent home. Monuments and museums in the nation’s capital were closed. CBS also reported,
“With nearly 8 feet” (around 2.44 meters) “of accumulation, Boston is closing in on the city’s all-time record for snowiest winter at 107.6 inches.”
In other words, Boston’s record was just shy of 9 feet or about 2.73 meters. And, it’s only mid February.
