Examining Our Assumptions
Within the framework of our relationships (with both God and mankind), we have a proclivity to make assumptions that often lead us to jump to incorrect conclusions, usually resulting in all kinds of trouble. Regarding our human relationships: while we need to be searching out the truth of a matter, we also must have a mind that believes in and hopes for the positive. That is the loving approach. Regarding our relationship with God: we must firmly believe that God’s purpose can be accomplished through us regardless of our weaknesses, and that includes enduring long trials.
