Minister to the Body of Christ
The Church of God has a big job to do in “saving the world”; Today that is preaching the gospel. But looking around, we are a poor representation of that message. So no wonder that we aren’t effective. The Feast of Tabernacles points to our future role as ministers to the injured survivors of the end-time events. We should be practicing those skills now, on the injured and ailing Body of Christ. In Peter’s first letter, he demands love and unity of the Church, and equates those characteristics to faith. Indeed, it is through faith in Christ’s power that we can muster the bold generosity and mutual submission needed to heal and strengthen the Body. Only then will it be fit to purpose, ready to do God’s bidding as the world falls apart, able to represent His promises, and to serve in the Kingdom of God.
